Hello Gallery Patron,
Need something special for your home? I’m always on the lookout for wonderful pieces. Recently I was traveling through Vietnam and Cambodia. I found a statue for a client’s new home in Palm Springs, California. (Yes, I work outside the DC area!) I attended an exhibition of very special Buddha statues made from reclaimed wood. This wood had been used by the Khmer Rouge during the Cambodian civil war to block the local water supply. This allowed the Khmer Rouge to control the villages.
This Buddha, which I purchased for the client, is carved from one piece of wood, with three layers of color. Its continual linear shape evokes a serene presence and the hand positions give it the title “Waiting for Rain.” I found the perfect Buddha for a home in the desert! (Photo at right).
With the warmer weather, we all get a boost in energy. We spring clean and realize fabrics may have become a bit tired or our rooms no longer flow well. A large part of Gallery Petalouth’s work is helping provide an innovative new look, frequently using a client’s existing furnishings. Some pieces may be reupholstered, while others may simply be moved to a new location.
The best way to start is to ask for an onsite consultation. We walk the rooms together. A client can take notes of our suggestions for wall colors, furniture and artwork placement, or the elimination of fixtures and accessories. The client is then welcome to implement these guidelines on their own, or hire Gallery Petalouth to execute the changes.
Either way the experience will be informative and fun! Gallery Petalouth encourages you to take advantage of our current Special, which brings you a 50% discount for your onsite consultation!
Below are some samples of Gallery Petalouth’s recent work.
Looking forward to working with you this summer!
Sincerely,
Elaine Ligelis
